First Alert Day For Ice & Snow Saturday 1/11/20

By  |

Davenport A FIRST ALERT DAY remains in effect for the entire TV6 viewing area until midnight.

Big revisions have been made to our forecast for tonight. With the track of the system more to the SE snowfall amounts have decreased significantly. We will still see an inch or two in the QC and areas to the SE, but 3”+ will contained more to central Illinois. We will ride out the First Alert Day as roads are still quite icy and snow will stick to everything. We will dry it out for Sunday, but another quick hitting system will bring a wintry mix overnight into Monday north of highway 30. Active weather will set up next week with several chances for snow and even arctic air by Thursday setting the stage for another possible wintry system with enough snow to shovel by next Friday into Saturday.

FIRST ALERT DAYS are issued to inform you of inconvenient, hazardous, or potentially dangerous weather in our viewing area--weather that could impact you and your family. Look for frequent updates on air, online, on our social media platforms and on the QC Weather App.
