Former Delhi city clerk sentenced after stealing over $100,000 from the city

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A former Delhi City Clerk was sentenced on December 20 to over a year in federal prison for stealing over $100,000 from the city.

Angela Billings, from Anamosa, pleaded guilty, admitting she had a position of public trust as the community clerk.

In a plea agreement Billings said she stole more than $100,000 from the city using the city's credit card for personal expenses and adjusting her own utility bills.

Billings was sentenced to 15 months in prison. A special assessment of $100 was imposed.

Billings has also been ordered to pay the city $133,915.31.

Billings also has a term of supervised release after the prison term.
