Freeze Warnings/Frost Advisories Return Tonight

By  |

After a wet and warm stretch of weather, Fall has officially returned to the midwest and the QCA. Skies will gradually clear up today, but you probably can already feel the wind chills in the 20s and 30s this morning. We will only see highs in the 40s today, which is the coolest since mid April. Winds will diminish by tonight and temps will cool to the mid and low 30s area wide. This will bring our first freeze potential along and north of I-80 tonight and areas south of I-80, including the metro, will have frost potential. The average first freeze in the QC is 10/13, so this is right on schedule in terms of averages. If you want to save your plants, please cover them up tonight or bring them inside.
