Gracie the comfort dog turns 7 years old

It was a special day for a special dog. Gracie, a trained comfort dog at Trinity Lutheran School in Davenport, turned 7 years old on Wed. Sept. 20, 2017.

Students sang "Happy Birthday" to her during an assembly to mark the occasion. Despite all the excitement, Gracie laid down during most of the event.

She's earned the recognition. Not only does she pal around with students at the school., but Gracie has been deployed multiple times over the years to provide comfort to victims of crime or hurricanes.
