And on Wednesday, the city of Moline held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new building.

Community leaders gathered to break ground Wednesday, all looking forward to a new beginning.

The groundbreaking was at 1 p.m. at the site of the former restaurant on River Drive in Moline.

The general manager spoke at the groundbreaking, saying it was a long process, but they wanted to make sure they got it right.

"It's been sorely missed. It's been a staple in the community for 60 years. One of the challenges in the design was to keep some of those nods from the old place so you have that feeling," Rob Egger said.

They hope to open by next summer.
