Man forced at gunpoint to withdraw cash from Cedar Rapids ATM

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Cedar Rapids police say a 19-year-old man was forced at gunpoint to withdraw cash from an ATM.

The 19-year-old victim told police he was sitting in his truck in the parking lot of the Target at 3400 Edgewood Road SW just after Noon on Tuesday when a man wearing a black parka and holding what appeared to be handgun approached his truck.

The victim tells police the suspect told him he needed to withdraw cash from an ATM.

Police says the suspect followed the victim into Target where he withdrew cash from the ATM inside.

After receiving a description of the suspect and reviewing surveillance video, officers arrested 31-year-old Quincy Terrell Franklin at the Aspen Inn at 3233 Southridge Drive SW just after 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Franklin is charged with first degree robbery.
