UPDATE: One person dead after car vs. semi crash in Warren County

WARREN COUNTY, Ill. (KWQC) - One person is dead and two others have been hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Warren County on Monday.

The Illinois State Police were called to US Rt. 34, west of 160th Ave. in Warren County for a two-vehicle crash.

Preliminary investigation shows a Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by 32-year-old Benjamin Dochterman of Burlington, Iowa, was heading westbound on US Rt. 34 when they crossed the center line crashing into a semi. Police say Dochterman was pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were taken to the hospital.

We have reached out to the Illinois State Police for more clarification on the victim's whereabouts and will update this story as more information becomes available.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office, Illinois DOT, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Service, Kirkwood Fire, Monmouth Fire and the Warren County Coroner's Office all assisted.
