Penn State fraternity member to be sentenced in death of Timothy Piazza
One of the men charged in the hazing death of Penn State Fraternity pledge Timothy Piazza is being sentenced Thursday.
Penn State Beta Theta Pi member Joseph Ems pleaded guilty to hazing and two alcohol-related charges in the 2017 death of Piazza.
Ems will be sentenced today in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
Piazza died in February 2017 when he fell down the stairs at the fraternity house during an initiation event.
Fraternity members failed to call 911 or get Piazza help for nearly 12 hours.
He died in the hospital almost two days later.
