UPDATE: TV-6 spoke with a shift manager at Happy Joe’s Pizza on Rockingham Rd., who said it happened when business was slowing down.

Caleb Hawkins said he was outside when the person hit him on the head.

“And I hear something come up from behind me and they pretty much just hit me and I can tell that its metal and they hit me with something - apparently they call that a pistol whip and my phone goes flying and he has a gun pointed at the center of my forehead,” said Hawkins.

He said the person told him to gather the employees inside and demanded to see the safe.

“He wanted to know where the safe was. We told him where it was. He got the money and he told us to lay down on our backs, put our hands over our heads, and do not move and pretty much went out the door and left,” he said.

Hawkins said is glad no one was hurt.

This is an ongoing investigation and no arrest has been made at this time. If you have information, call the Davenport Police Department at 563-326-6125.
