UPDATE: Autopsy scheduled for woman found dead at Dewitt home
DeWitt police say an investigation determined the death of Jessica Vance as a suicide.
An autopsy for 29-year-old Jessica Vance, who was found dead in a Dewitt home Friday morning, is scheduled for this week.
Officials say the autopsy could be conducted Tuesday at the earliest, but it could be later in the week.
Police have identified the woman found dead in a home in Dewitt Friday morning.
They say at approximately 9:44 a.m., officers responded to 319 9th Avenue for an unresponsive female. Upon arriving, officers found 29-year-old Jessica Elizabeth Vance dead in the home.
Cause of death is still under investigation.
The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigating is assisting the Dewitt Police Department in the investigation.
Police say there is no immediate danger to other residents, but anyone with information in the case is asked to call the Dvision of Criminal Investigation Special Agent in charge at (563) 370-5109.
Multiple law enforcement officers are on scene at a home in Dewitt Friday afternoon after a female was found dead.
A TV6 photographer at the home saw a home in the 300 block of 9th Avenue with crime scene tape around it, and several officers at the home. A number of the officers appeared to be focused on a garage.
The name of the female or how she died has not been released.
TV6 has reached out to Dewitt Police and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation for information about the scene. We will update this story when we have more details.
