Davenport, Iowa (KWQC) - UPDATE: River Drive in Davenport is back open.
According to the Davenport Police Department, the accident happened before 7:00 am at East River Drive near Forest Road.
The crash involved three vehicles. One car was rear-ended and pushed it into the side of a semi-truck. The semi-truck lost an exterior gas tank as a result of the crash and leaked fuel all over the road.
A sand truck was brought in to help clean up the fuel. River Drive was blocked off for about an hour and a half while the crash was cleaned up.
One person was transported to Genesis as a precaution. Minor injuries are being reported. All vehicles sustained moderate damages.
UPDATE: Police and fire crews are working to clean up the scene of an accident on River Drive in Davenport near the Bettendorf border. The accident happened before 7:30 am.
Fire crews tell KWQC it could be a while before the road is reopened as they are bringing in a sand truck to help clean up the diesel fuel that spilled in the accident.
We don't know the cause of the accident at this time, only that it involves a jack-knifed semi truck and two cars.
One person was taken to the hospital. Their injuries are unknown.
Traffic is being diverted using back streets from Forest Drive to McClellan Heights.
