SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa (KWQC) - Floodwater has impacted cities and rural areas, too.
The Waste Commission of Scott County has teamed-up other county departments to assist in debris and trash removal to rural residents.
A special collection will begin May 21 for residents of unincorporated Scott County impacted by the Mississippi and Wapsipinicon river floods.
Crews will pick-up construction debris, carpet, and furniture damaged by floodwater. Large appliances, such as water heaters and washers, will also be picked up. No food, hazardous materials, household garbage or electronics will be accepted during the special pick-up.
