UPDATE: One person sustains minor injuries after chemicals are mixed at The Current

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - UPDATE 1:04 p.m.: City officials say fire crews were on scene Thursday morning following two chemicals that were mixed that were not compatible.

Davenport Fire Marshal Jim Morris says around 10:15 a.m., an employee inadvertently mixed two chemicals together, those two chemicals were not compatible and caused a smell that was contained to that room. The building was evacuated.

Hazmat crews were on scene for an hour to help clean the area and remove the chemicals. They also ventilated the building.

Officials say one person sustained minor injuries. Employees and guests were allowed to return to the building.

Crews are continuing to investigate.

ORIGINAL: Main Street is blocked from 2nd to 3rd Street in downtown Davenport.

TV6 has reached out to city officials and we are waiting to hear back as to what may be happening.We are hearing reports of Hazmat being on the scene, but at this time we are not sure why they are at the scene.
