Tour de Brew QC Bike 2019 event

Tour de Brew QC will continue it's mission to raise money for local cancer organizations despite the Mississippi River flooding. Due to the flooding, modifications to the route have been made for the safety of all taking part.

The Front Street Tap Room , 421 W. River Drive (Freight House) will still be the location for packet pick up on Friday, May 3rd from 3 p.m. To 7 p.m. A pre-ride party will be held, with The Generations Band playing tunes from the 60’s and 70’s from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Packet pick up resumes at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 4th at the same location, with the ride beginning at 10 a.m. It's recommended participants use parking ramps, as parking space is limited due to high water.

From Front Street, volunteers will direct riders around floodwaters and will cross the river via the Government Bridge, then will stop at Wake Brewing, in Rock Island, where Cool Beanz will be on site. The Le Claire Firefighter Association will also serve breakfast burritors donated by TPC Cash-N-Carry. Wake will also be serving Helles on Wheels Lager for TDB QC for $3.00 , Blood Mary's and Bloody Beers for $4.00.

The next stop will be Rock Island Brewing Company, 1815 2nd Avenue, Rock Island, where riders can enjoy food and drink specials inside, or on the plaza.

After that, riders will head back over to Iowa via the Government Bridge to Great River Brewery, 332 E. 2nd Street. It's offering $2 drink specials and bags on the patio.

Riders will then head back to Front Street Tap Room for a post-ride party, which will offer live music with Lewis Knudson from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., and silent auction winners will be announced at 6:30.

For those who don't wish to ride, there is also a 5K walk. It begins at Front Street Tap Room, at 1:00 p.m. Walkers will depart from Front Street to Great River Brewery, 332 E. 2nd Street. Walkers will then cross over to Illinois via the Government Bridge and head west to Rock Island Brewing Company, 1815 2nd Avenue. Walkers will then use the Centennial Bridge to cross back to Iowa to Front Street Tap room for the after-party.

Tour de Brew QC is gearing up for there 6th annual bike ride event that helps to raise funds and awareness of various cancers affecting people in the Quad Cities.

The Tour de Brew QC is scheduled for Saturday, May 4th. The event welcomes participants from anywhere. The 2018 event hosted 563 riders from 9 states and 93 different cities in the one-day event.

Tour de Brew QC has raised more than $80,000 for cancer programs over the past 5 years. Money in the 2019 event will help Camp Kesem's Augustana Chapter, Children's Cancer Connection, the LIVESTRONG Foundation, and LIVESTRONG at the YMCA programs in Scott and Rock Island counties.

The bike route for 2019 has not yet been released.

The 2019 event will include new items, such as a new start and stop point and will be adding a route for walkers.
