ROCHESTER, NY (KWQC/NBC) - It seems that most everyone has a favorite game they remember playing. From the Magic 8 Ball to Pinball, and even the card game "UNO". Well, now all three of these games will be honored in the Hall of Fame, which is located at 'The Strong Museum' in Rochester, New York.
The announcement was made today. The card game UNO was invented nearly 50 years ago, and it's a favorite to many for its simplicity that includes players from children as well as adults.
Pinball has also been around for decades and has experienced a bit of a comeback in recent years.
The Magic 8 Ball, which has been around since 1946, has been a finalist for the Hall of Fame 6 other times before, but the seventh time proved to be the charm this time around.
Anyone can nominate a toy for the Hall of Fame, but a museum advisory board breaks down the list to 12 games. Then a panel of historians, educators, and others make the final selections.
Toys that did not make the cut this year were Tickle me Elmo, American Girl dolls, and the game, "Chutes and Ladders".
