Madison Keys Rallies In Final Sets To Advance In US Open

Rock Island native Madison Keys competed in the 3rd round of the U.S Open on September 1st against Aleksandra Krunic after finishing runner up in the tournament in 2017.

It was a slow start for Keys as she lost the first set to Krunic at 4-6. Keys would go onto rally in the 2nd and 3rd set to win the match (4-6, 6-1, 6-2).

This win will advance her to the round of 16 for the fourth consecutive year. Keys has looked impressive all year by improving her record to to 24-11. She awaits the winner of the third-round match between 2016 US Open champion Angelique Kerber and the 29th seed Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova.
