JOB DESCRIPTION: KWQC-TV6 is looking for a newsroom leader – someone who will either lead in producing his/her own newscasts or be highly involved in script writing and story assignments with reporters, all while keeping digital posting top of mind. This anchor/producer will lead the charge in thinking outside of the box in story treatments, digital engagement, and in pursuing the big stories of the day. He/she would also be expected to pursue stories on a regular basis that fall in line with our station’s mission. Finally, this anchor must already have skills in commanding an anchor desk during a breaking news event to being sometimes field anchoring for a hard news story or a community event.
QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified applicant will already have some experience in anchoring on a regular basis, along with recent experience in reporting and/or producing. Must have a valid drivers’ license and be insurable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and/or carry and manage news photography and lighting equipment. You are also frequently exposed to outside conditions.
