The tougher enforcement comes at a time when at least 16 squads have been hit and three troopers have died.

Exercise may be key in fighting Alzheimer's

A new study tracking more than 200 older adults finds exercise may be an important element in the fight to prevent or slow Alzheimer's disease. It shows seniors who logged at least 9,000 steps per day, experienced less cognitive decline and brain tissue loss. Researchers say the results are especially encouraging for seniors who are at high risk for Alzheimer's.

More teens say they're trying to lose weight

More than one-third of older teenagers say they are actively trying to lose weight. A new government study followed kids 16 to 19 years old. More than 37% say they're trying to shed pounds. That's up more than ten percent from just five years ago. On the positive side, researchers say most of those teens were using exercise, not crash diets, as their primary method of losing weight.
