The First Alert Forecast from Meteorologist Kevin Phelps
Showers and storms are rapidly developing this morning to our NW and will reach the Mississippi river between 9 and 10AM. These storms will carry a high wind threat, small hail and even a brief tornado. For this reason a First Alert Day is in effect through midday for strong storms. The area under the highest threat for severe weather is areas SW of the QC. Once storms pass through your area, the threat will be over and temps should recover to the mid 80s this afternoon. Quieter and cooler weather will ensue the rest of the week with many areas only in the 70s and 80s.
TODAY: AM Storms. 84° Winds: SW 5-10 mph.
