Grant Curtis honored with Hometown Hero Award

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - For six years, Grant Curtis has served as President of the Quad Cities Alliance for immigrants and refugees. He’s also the founder of Underwear Because We Care, a non-profit that last year alone donated nearly 20,000 underwear items to people in need in the Quad Cities.

In appreciation of his service to others, TV6 and SERVPRO honored Curtis with the Hometown Hero Award.

”It’s a lot of work but the thing that allows me to be successful are the people that are here supporting me and are providing help with everything we do so thank you,” Curtis said.

“The thing that amazes me most is no matter how much help and assistance we put out there, there’s a need for more,” He said. “The underwear, last year we gave out almost 20 thousand items and that’s a drop in the bucket for what’s needed. The immigrants you know we have in excess a million dollar impact on the Quad Cities and it’s still not enough.”
