WALCOTT, Iowa (KWQC) -Angie Ehlers eats, sleeps, breaths and lives 4H.

She started in the program as a kid and went on to meet her husband before becoming a group leader herself. Over the last decade, she’s committed hundreds of hours to inspiring the next generation of kids in Scott County to find a love for agriculture. She’s also built a reputation for making an amazing pie that raises money for the 4H club every year at the Mississippi Valley Fair.

In appreciation of his service to others, TV6 and SERVPRO honored Ehlers with the Hometown Hero Award.

“Well, I got a lot out of 4H. I met my husband in 4H and I just think it’s a great program for all kids and families,” Ehlers said. “So I’ve had a lot of great experiences. So hopefully we can Amy, my group leader, and I can share that with the kids that are in our group, and other kids in 4H now.”
