‘Life Sucks’ smartly reworks Chekhov classic in Playcrafters’ production

MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) -Playcrafters Barn Theatre’s Barn Owl Series will present Life Sucks, a reworking of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, from Nov. 15 to 24. The show is rated R.

Bruce Duling (who portrays Uncle Vanya) discusses the brash production that features a group of old friends, ex-lovers, estranged in-laws, and lifelong enemies as they gather to grapple with life’s thorniest questions—and each other. What could possibly go wrong? Incurably lustful and lonely, hapless and hopeful, these seven souls collide and stumble their way towards a new understanding that life sucks. Or does it?

Performances start at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. for Sunday matinees. Doors open one hour before the show. To purchase tickets or get more information, click here or call 309-762-0330 to make a reservation. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
