Martee Murguia of Mediapolis wins Hometown Hero Award

MEDIAPOLIS, Iowa (KWQC) - KWQC and SERVPRO honored Martee Murguia with the Hometown Hero Award in appreciation of her service to the Mediapolis community through her restaurant, Apron Strings. In her 37 years with Apron Strings, Murguia loved providing meals to law enforcement and children. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Murguia partnered with local businesses and churches to help provide free meals to children who normally would get their meals at school.

“I love cooking and I love this community. This community is unbelievable and they just always supported to me and been kind and nice” said Murguia.
