Bix at 6 training runs to kick off amid rising temperatures

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - With only one month till the 51st Quad City Times Bix 7, Bix at 6 training runs begin Thursday night.

Bix 7 Race Director Michelle Juehring said the training run launches at 6 p.m. from 4th and LeClaire Streets.

Sprint trials begin at 7 p.m. at 5th and Pershing Streets Juehring said.

A First Alert Day is in effect Thursday afternoon for heat and humidity as well as the potential for strong storms.

If participants feel bogged down by the weather, Juehring said runners do not have to do all seven miles Thursday night. Train at your own pace, wear light clothing and stay hydrated.

New at the Bix 7 race this year, a friends and family gathering area will be offered at 4th Street. Juehring said the event will feature live music, food trucks and big games.
