Buffalo’s Jen Mizer wins Hometown Hero Award for service to community

BUFFALO, Iowa (KWQC) - KWQC and SERVPRO surprised Jen Mizer with the Hometown Hero award in appreciation of her service to her community in Buffalo. Jen is usually the first person volunteering her time to help whenever someone is in need in her community.

“They’re all like family they’re all my friends. They would do anything for me, I would do anything for them” said Mizer who volunteers to lead fundraising efforts for veterans, Sherriff’s reserves and the fire department.

“I was very surprised, I’m very happy, it was nice to be acknowledged. I like to do a lot but I usually do it in the silence of my own background I don’t need acknowledgment I enjoy what I do, I enjoy supporting everybody.”
