9/11-themed show ‘Come From Away’ now on stage at Circa 21
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) -This fall, Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse is presenting the award-winning musical Come From Away, a powerful and uplifting production based on the true events of Sept. 11, 2001.
Running now through Nov. 1, the show offers a deeply human story of compassion, resilience, and unexpected connection.
About the production
Come From Away tells the remarkable tale of Gander, Newfoundland, where 38 planes carrying nearly 7,000 passengers were diverted in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.
As fear and uncertainty gripped the world, the residents of this small town opened their hearts and homes to stranded travelers—offering food, shelter, and kindness.
Through energetic music and real-life storytelling, the show celebrates the bonds formed in crisis and the generosity that defines humanity at its best.
Cast members joined QCL on the Sept. 11 anniversary to share behind-the-scenes insights and reflect on the show’s emotional resonance.
