Bill Horton honored with Hometown Hero Award for service to hospital patients

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (KWQC) - KWQC and SERVPRO surprised Bill Orton with the Hometown Hero Award in recognition of his service to patients at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington. Orton volunteers 30 hours per week drive patients to and from their appointments. He also helps them get around the hospital. He began volunteering after his wife passed away.

“March 10th of 2024 my wife died so this gave me something to do” said Orton.

“I enjoy doing and being around people and I enjoy helping” he said.
