BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - Bettendorf High School’s yearbook staff is getting recognized on the national level.

Over the weekend, the group was chosen as a Pacemaker Finalist at the Journalism Education Association and National Scholastic Press Association National High School Journalism Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Bettendorf’s 2025 yearbook, “Revision,” was one of 58 books nationwide, and the only one from Iowa, to be recognized as a finalist.

“Unfortunately we didn’t make it as a winner, but I think in part that’s okay,” John Staber, the yearbook club’s advisor said. “The students that I’ve had in this program are always setting their sights on something else to achieve and this is just one more milestone.”

Though this was the first time Bettendorf submitted their yearbook for the award, Staber said it won’t be the last.
