Muscatine’s Chelsea Harms honored with Hometown Hero Award
MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) - KWQC and SERVPRO surprised Chelsea Harms with the Hometown Hero award in appreciation of the many ways she serves others in her community.
Harms launched Hair Heroes a program that provides haircuts to children while promoting reading and self confidence. She’s also organized food drives, raising thousands of dollars to pack hundreds of meals for those in need.
She proudly serves on The Muscatine women’s leadership committee, the Habitat for Humanity committee, and the Muscatine community city chamber board.
Harms is in her 11th year volunteering with Junior Achievement. She’s also the owner of a charcuterie business called Cheers and Graze with Charm. Every month she donates a portion of the proceeds to a local charity.
Harms is also a core member of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization that builds beds for children in need.
“I’m very lucky” said Harms.
“My friends and family support every little initiative that I do, they’re always in my corner, any silly idea they’re always supporting me and what can they do and what can they offer. I think this goes to everyone that supports me, not just me. I’m very thankful, very honored.”
