DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - John Deere announced plans Thursday to bring back 20 workers to its Davenport Works facility and hire 30 additional employees in Dubuque.

The additions begin this month to meet rising demand for construction and forestry equipment, the ag giant said in a news release. Since January, more than 400 workers across Iowa and Illinois have been hired or recalled by the company.

“We’re seeing increased demand for construction equipment, and that’s creating opportunities to add to our team,” said Dubuque Works Factory Manager Alex Fernandez.

Davenport Works is home to six product lines including production and utility class 4WD loaders, dump trucks, motor graders and skidders.
