Dollar General workers accused of stealing nearly $45K of items to sell on Facebook Marketplace
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG/Gray News) - Authorities in Ohio say two women have been arrested and charged with theft for stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of items from a store where they worked.
According to Toledo police, Marsha Schultz, 44, and Stacey Leestema, 46, have been charged with grand theft for stealing nearly $44,000 worth of products from the Dollar General store where they worked last year.
The stolen items were allegedly sold on Facebook Marketplace.
Police said the store manager told them she saw the two pretending to scan items being checked out by co-conspirators posing as customers and hiding items in bins.
A pretrial hearing for Schultz and Leestema is scheduled this week.
