‘Beyond the First Alert’ expands weather coverage on KWQC+

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Viewers who want more than the daily First Alert Forecast can now dive deeper into all things weather with “Beyond the First Alert,” a new streaming show on KWQC+.

The show is hosted by QCL’s Kyle Kiel and First Alert Meteorologist Diana Rodriguez, who joined Quad Cities Live to share how the program has evolved in its first two months. The pair discuss the freedom of having unlimited time to break down weather patterns, explain forecast decisions, and explore topics that don’t always fit into a traditional newscast.

A viewer favorite is Diana’s “Spanish Weather Word of the Day,” which has recently featured terms like lluvia (rain), caliente (hot), and el tiempo (weather). The team also plans to incorporate Kyle’s “Weather Classroom” segments and continue adding astronomy‑focused content.

“Beyond the First Alert” streams exclusively Monday through Friday at 1:30 p.m. on KWQC+. Viewers can watch on Android, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, the KWQC News app, or KWQC.com.
