UPDATE: Officials ID human skull found in Henderson County as Bellevue man
The Henderson County coroner tells TV-6 that the human skull has been identified as that of 23-year-old Shawn Patrick Bethel of Bellevue, Iowa.
Bethel went missing after snowmobiling on the Maquoketa River near Preston in 2011. In 2013 his snowmobile suit and partial remains were found by the Army Corp that was dredging near Sabula.
The Henderson County coroner tells TV-6 they are working to obtain dental records after a skull was found over the weekend.
The coroner, Chris Beals says they have a good idea of who the person is but if they cannot get the dental records they will have to identify the person's identity through DNA.
TV-6 previously reported a human skull was found inside a helmet on Burlington Island. A logging company found the skull while working.

The Henderson County, Ill. corner confirms it is conducting a death investigation after a human skull was discovered inside a helmet on Burlington Island.
The coroner said a logging company found the human skull while during work on the island Thursday, August, 30th.
The skull has been sent to the Peoria, ILL. coroner for investigation.
According to the coroner, the discovery is being investigated as a death investigation at this point.
