Operation Prom gives Davenport students look at dangers of drinking and driving
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Davenport students got a very real look at the dangers of drinking and driving.
Police and first responders partnered with Davenport students to orchestrate a crash scene as part of Operation Prom. The performance is meant to keep students safe during prom and graduation celebrations.
Students in the performance said they hoped to make clear the real dangers associated with drinking and driving.
“I hope they learn that it could happen to anybody, even if you’re a rule follower,” said Cameryn Bergthold, sophomore at Davenport West High School.
Operation Prom is a collaborative effort between multiple agencies including the Davenport Police and Fire departments, Scott County EMS, and the Davenport Community School District.
