Illinois Lt. Governor, senate hopeful Juliana Stratton slams proposed job cuts at the Rock Island Arsenal
ROCK ISLAND, Illinois (KWQC) - Another prominent voice rushed to defend more than 400 proposed jobs at the Rock Island Arsenal.
Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton adds to an outcry of government officials after union leaders announced the number of cuts proposed by federal leaders at The Department of Government Efficiency.
Union leaders confirmed the proposed cuts in April.
Stratton, who also announced her bid to fill Dick Durbin’s senate seat promised to do everything she can in her current role as Lt. Governor to keep jobs in Illinois.
Stratton joins a bipartisan group of lawmakers from Illinois and Iowa who have tried to convince federal leaders to back off of cuts to the Arsenal. Senators Dick Durbin (D) and Chuck Grassley (R) along with Representatives Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R) and Eric Sorensen (D).
