Sterling OKs ordinance to be in statewide mutual aid system for disasters

STERLING, Ill. (KWQC) - Sterling City Council unanimously approved an ordinance to participate in the Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network on Monday night.

The network is a statewide mutual aid system available to all public works agencies according to the Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network’s website.

The system allows for support during natural or man-made disasters.

Sterling has been a part of the network for a few years.
