MORRISON, Ill. (KWQC) - Whiteside County opened its centralized 911 dispatch center on Monday, which was made possible because voters said “yes” to the public safety tax in April, officials said.

The hub, located at the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, will handle all emergency calls in the county, according to a media release.

Officials said this will streamline communication and improve response times for police, fire and EMS agencies.

“This is a proud day for Whiteside County,” Sheriff John Booker said. “Bringing all dispatch operations together into one central hub at the sheriff’s office will better serve our citizens and our first responders.”
