Senior Bix participant defying the odds

BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - A new tradition to the Bix festivities is the Senior Bix and for one Quad Cities man, he’s proving you can do anything you put your mind to.

Meet Mark Judy, he’s one of the seniors who participated in the Senior Bix. He said he lost his leg to diabetes and almost his life.

Judy said he believes he shouldn’t be limited by what his body tells him.

“I’ve just tried to have a positive attitude and do what I can to recover,” Judy said.

Through recovery, Judy said his wife and friends have been some of his biggest supporters.

“Just getting outside, doing things.. it makes you strong,” Judy said.

The next step in recovery will be getting a prosthetic leg, Judy said.
