Man charged with 15 counts of possession of child pornography

GALESBURG, Ill. (KWQC) - Illinois State Police have arrested a man they say had child pornography in his home.

According to police, agents arrested 45-year-old Destan L. Hoots of Galesburg on:

• 15 counts of possession of child pornography under age 13, a Class 2 felony
• One count of dissemination of child pornography, a Class X felony

Officials said on Thursday, agents searched Hoots’ home in the 400 block of North Academy Street and collected electronic items.

The electronics were analyzed, and officials said child abuse materials were found.

Officials said Hoots was taken to the Knox County Jail.
