Troopers: Wrong-way driver tased, arrested after chase

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A 57-year-old was tased and arrested after troopers say he led them on a chase.

A chase ended just before midnight late Wednesday night near Brady Street, according to Iowa State Patrol.

A sergeant told KWQC a car was reported as driving recklessly in Davenport.

Troopers found the car but officials said the driver, later identified as 57-year-old Nicholas T. Warner, did not stop and a chase began.

Warner got away but troopers said 10 minutes later he was found driving recklessly again and going the wrong way on Harrison Street.

Officials said they intentionally crashed their cars into Warner’s but he got out and ran.

Multiple tasers were used to stop Warner who was arrested, officials said.

K-9 officers walked around Warner’s car and officials said they found drugs.

Warner is charged with felony eluding and felony third-offense OWI.

Warner is also charged with several misdemeanors including driving the wrong way, speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia.
