CAMBRIDGE, Illinois (KWQC) - Jamison Fisher, the man accused of killing Trudy Appleby in 1996, appeared Friday in Henry County court.

The pretrial hearing was brief, and another court date was set for Feb. 27.

Fisher, 50, was charged with killing Appleby in August. It came nearly 30 years after the 11-year-old went missing from near her home in Moline.

Prosecutors have said in court documents that the killing was the result of a drug debt but the details have not yet been made clear.

Fisher has pleaded not guilty. In a jailhouse interview with KWQC, Fisher said he did not kill the girl.

Leading up to Fisher’s appearance on Friday, he had filed a motion on his own accord asking for access to prescribed Adderall, a drug typically used to treat ADHD.

The judge agreed to allow Fisher’s public defenders to refile a more formal motion for the medication in early February.
