Tavion Banks declares for 2026 NBA Draft, enters transfer portal

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWQC) - Tavion Banks has declared for the 2026 NBA draft and entered the transfer portal as he waits to see if he is granted a fifth year of eligibility.

Banks was a critical factor in Iowa’s run to the Elite Eight. He scored 20 points in Iowa’s upset win over number one Florida in the round of 32.

Banks said he wants to return to Iowa if he is given a fifth season.

“If a fifth year becomes an option, I want to be a Hawkeye!” Banks said.

Banks was Iowa’s leading rebounder and second-leading scorer this past season.
