Davenport Community School District approves demolition project, 5 vacant houses

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The Davenport Community School District approved plans to demolish several district owned properties.

The district will demolish four houses on East 36th Street and one house on 53rd Street to free up land for other district use and eliminate the maintenance of vacant homes.

The contract for the project was awarded to MCON Constructors, the lowest bidder.

The project is estimated to cost $119,850, according to school board documents. Work is scheduled to be complete by July 30.
