DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Several Davenport residents are left without a home after crews responded to a house fire Tuesday.

James Woods, district fire chief with the Davenport Fire Department, told KWQC that fire crews went to the 800 block of East Rusholme Street for a report of a basement on fire.

Dispatch reported that the 911 caller said something might have blown up in the basement, according to a media release.

When crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from the home and found the basement on fire, he said.

Woods said three people were at home when the fire started, and the Red Cross has been notified and will be in contact with them.

He said there were no injuries.

Woods said the fire is not suspicious, and the cause is under investigation.
