QC, That’s Where! Local 25 training is a free path to skilled careers in trades

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC)-The Local 25 Labor Management Cooperative Committee--better known as LMCC--brings together the expertise of Local Union 25 Plumbers and Pipefitters, along with contractors, to grow the next generation of highly skilled tradespeople.

Chances are, all Quad Citians have seen their work in some of the most essential projects across the community.

During this segment on QCL, a spotlight is shining on the apprentices who are building careers through this program.

Local Union 25 Plumbers and Pipefitters talks a great deal about the apprentice program which is a combination of school training and on-the-job training that can be done at no cost. It’s free.

It comprises of five years of training--six weeks in school (per year) which is usually two-week blocks three times each year and the rest of the time is working for a contractor.

These five years of extensive classroom training is done in a state-of-the-art training center plus the on-the-job experience produces the most skilled, qualified and safest workforce in our community

With this program, Local 25 is offering much more than a job--it is a true career opportunity.

This program graduates provide 70 percent of all plumbing, HVAC and pipefitting performed throughout the Quad Cities region.
