Firefighter falls through floor during attic fire

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A firefighter was injured after falling through an attic floor during a fire Tuesday night.

About 10:45 p.m., crews came to an apartment building in the 1500 block of Marquette Street, according to a news release.

Crews found fire in the attic, and officials said it was under control within 15 minutes.

Officials said as crews were fighting the fire, a firefighter fell through the attic floor onto the second level.

The firefighter was rescued from the building and taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Officials said the firefighter was released several hours later.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, but officials said it is not considered suspicious.
