QC, That’s Where! Women United support early learning, highlight May 14 event
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -Quad Cities Live is highlighting the work of Women United, a United Way of the Quad Cities affinity group focused on early childhood education and kindergarten readiness.
The two‑part segment features a pre‑recorded look at the group’s impact, followed by a live in‑studio conversation about its upcoming fundraiser and the Ready by 5 program.
Women United brings together volunteers and donors who support early learning initiatives across Scott and Rock Island counties. The group helps fund and strengthen programs that prepare children for kindergarten, with an emphasis on parent engagement, early literacy and access to resources.
United Way leaders say these efforts align with the organization’s Rise United 2030 goals, which focus on education, financial stability and health.
The segment also spotlights Ready by 5, a parent‑focused program that provides workshops, tools and learning strategies to help families support their children’s development from birth to age five. Since the start of the school year, 26 workshops have been held, with more than 140 parents completing the program and additional sessions underway.
