Geneseo prepares for 58th annual music festival including Father’s Day parade
Geneseo Music Festive is set for June 19-21 all over town with the parade on June 21 at 1 p.m.
GENESEO, Iowa (KWQC) -The Geneseo Chamber of Commerce will host the 58th Annual Geneseo Music Festival on over Father’s Day weekend, June 19–21, bringing three days of live entertainment, food, family activities and community traditions to downtown.
The long‑running summer festival features parades, live music, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks and activities for all ages.
The Father’s Day Parade, one of the festival’s most popular traditions, will take place Sunday, June 21, at 1 p.m.
Festival activities begin Friday evening with the Doo Dah Parade, the Little Miss Geneseo and Music Fest Pageants, and the Rotary Ice Cream Social.
Saturday’s schedule includes the Rotary Maple City 4 Run, pony rides, pedal pull competitions, bags tournaments and family entertainment in City Park and the downtown district.
Sunday events include the Fly‑In Breakfast at Gen Airpark, a church service in the park and the Art League Ice Cream Socials. The market and craft fair will operate Saturday and Sunday, and food trucks will be available all three days.
Live music will be featured at multiple venues across Geneseo, including the City Park Bandshell, Central Bank Pavilion, Geneseo Historical Museum, Geneseo Brewing Company, In‑A‑Godda‑Da‑Vida Music and Gaslight Grocer.
Scheduled performers include Jerm Theory, the Quad City Orchestra Modern Pop String Quartet, a Dave Matthews tribute band, Paxton’s Top Shelf Trio, Barry Cloyd & Freedom Street, Bugz Benson, the Musical Memories Showcase, the GHS Jazz Band and additional local and regional acts.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan for street closures and increased pedestrian traffic throughout the weekend, particularly in the downtown and City Park areas.
