ELDRIDGE, Iowa (KWQC) - Eldridge police worked with the FBI to arrest a Missouri man in an undercover child exploitation investigation.

Police arrested 46-year-old Christopher Cassidy on Thursday.

Investigators say Cassidy used the internet to try to contact someone he believed was a minor.

Cassidy now faces federal charges:

  • two counts of attempted receipt of child sexual abuser material
  • one count of attempted production of child sexual abuse material
  • one count of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor

Eldridge Police Chief Andrew Lellig says the arrest shows their commitment to protecting children. He urges parents to talk to their kids about online safety and monitor their internet use.
