DES MOINES, Iowa (KWQC) - Pending confirmation from the Iowa Senate, Adam Steen will be Iowa’s next director of the Department of Administrative Services.

The Office of Gov. Kim Reynolds released a statement Tuesday afternoon naming Steen as the next department head. This following the resignation of former director Jim Kurtenbach, who left the office in early 2020.

Gov. Reynolds said of Steen, “Adam has an impressive background in finance management, consulting, and making a career out of growing jobs and investing in small businesses across Iowa. I appreciate his business-minded focus and believe it will be a great fit at the state of Iowa’s human resources agency.”

Steen comes from Indianola, Iowa, and currently serves as Director of Business Development at Syverson Strege. Steen also previously owned a senior level management consulting firm called 25 Connections.
